Third Grade

Reading
Your child will demonstrate how to decode words and determine the meaning using context clues; read with sufficient accuracy to support comprehension.
Math
Your child will demonstrate a better understanding of multiplication and division and strategies to compute math problems; develop a better understanding of fractions, arrays and analyzing two dimensional.
Class Structure
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm to 6pm your child will receive:

Instruction in reading comprehension and fluency.

Activities that will build long-word decoding skills.

Learn strategies to compute math problems.

Instruction solving elapsed time, including word problems.

Multiple opportunities weighing classroom objects and filling containers to help them develop a basic understanding of the size and weight of a liter, a gram, and a kilogram.
Daily Schedule
4:00pm-4:30pm Teacher-led classroom instruction
4:30pm-5:00pm Independent Learning/Quiet activities
5:00pm-5:10pm Snack
5:10pm-5:40pm Teacher Student games
5:40pm-6:00pm Teacher Student hands on activities.
